Abstract:?China is entering a stage of deep aging, and as one of the most economically developed and densely populated regions, the Yangtze River Delta (hereinafter referred to as the Yangtze River Delta) is becoming more and more prominent in the aging problem. As a core component of the elderly service system, the spatio-temporal pattern distribution of elderly institutions is crucial to solving the aging problem and improving the elderly service system. This paper aims to solve the problem of missing spatial and temporal distribution data of elderly institutions in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region. With the help of GIS technology and web crawler technology, this paper constructs a spatial distribution dataset of elderly institutions in the YRD region, which contains attributes such as name of the institution, geographic coordinates, time of establishment, and the number of beds by collecting data from multiple sources such as the Civil Affairs Integration Governmental Service Platform, the local civil affairs bureaus, and the elderly service platforms. This dataset can provide a source of data for the study of elderly care issues in the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as a scientific decision-making basis for the relevant departments to grasp the distribution of elderly care institutions in the region, understand the development trend of the elderly care industry, and define the direction of resource optimization, which will help promote the soundness and development of the elderly care system in the Yangtze River Delta region.
